Notify Master
Report equipment failure
Verify vessel's position (Time, location and details of event)
If main engine failure – comply as per TGM 2.13.1 A24 MATRIX – Main engine failure
Assess if M/E need to be stopped or consider for controlled stop if required
Determine cause of failure and estimated completion time of repair. Refer to TGM 2.10.11 A16 – Scrubber Operation / Malfunctioning
Determine if ship's crew capable to repair the equipment and put back into a compliant condition within one hour
If equipment cannot be rectified within 1 hour, changeover to compliant fuel / LSMGO
Monitor parameters of other machineries (Fuel temperature, viscosity, A/E, Boiler, etc). Log down entry in Annex VI record book
Evaluate ROB of compliant fuel / LSMGO on board
If insufficient compliant fuel on board, propose an action plan for bunkering compliant fuel
Plan for equipment repair
Notify flag state and destination port authority on current status, bunkering and repair plan. Seek approval before consuming the non-compliant fuel oil
Log entry made (Deck logbook and Engine logbook, EGCS record book, etc.)
Preserve VDR / SVDR records if not automatically protected
