1 APPLICATION

This document applies to Masters, Navigating Officers, and Watch Keepers onboard vessels managed by Company.

2 PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to specify principles for implementation of Company Management System (CMS), Planned Maintenance System, other IT applications and equipment onboard.

3 REQUIREMENTS

4 RESPONSIBILITIES

Function Responsibility
Master and Chief Engineer
  • Ensure that systems are working onboard in line with the principles set forth in the procedure.
  • Always confirm receipt of spare parts onboard. Order missing or low-stock parts.
  • Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Ensure that data replication and synchronization are sent and received timely.
  • Perform pilot testing and provide feedback on new or enhanced IT applications or functions coordinated and instructed by the office.
  • Follow instructions from Vessel IT to troubleshoot, fix issues, grant remote access, and perform installation and configurations when necessary.
  • Ensure no one changes the settings of systems onboard.
  • Safeguard the PC and equipment onboard.
  • Report any IT systems and connectivity-related issues to Vessel IT.
Vessel IT
  • Ensure that IT systems are implemented properly onboard.
